Bookseller review
The first novel in the brilliant Inheritance Cycle.Twisting plotlines, well developed characters and Dragons, what more could you want?

This was actually a book that had been sitting on my bookshelf for a long while before I picked it up to read and once I started I just couldn't put it down! I have read a lot of fiction in the fantasy genre but not since Tolkien have I read anything so exciting or epic (yes, it's that good!). We immediately empathise with the character of Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, and the journey they embark on is so vividly written we feel as if we're right there in the action.
I honestly can't recommend this book highly enough, and in the post-Harry Potter days it's great to have some sequels to look forward to!

I came across this book by accident, but once I picked it up and started reading, I didn't put it down again until I got to the end. Christopher Paolini has created a welcome addition to a very popular fantasy genre with 'Eragon', the first book in his Inheritance Cycle.
Dragons, magic, elves, dwarves.. it may all sound very familiar, but this book is stunningly original in the way it is written and what the story arc entails. It is difficult to believe Paolini was only 15 when he began writing this book...
The language is powerful and emotive, the story is detailed and ambitious, the style is classic yet with a new twist. I really cannot tell you how fantastic this book is. You're just going to have to read it for yourself to find out!

Paolini really uncovered a new twist for the classic dragon tale. Bringing something to the current generation that hasn't previously been available; something fresh, new and exciting!
Although at times, for the older reader, the age at which Paolini started out becomes apparant, the charm that is added will keep you gripped.
Eragon, the first in the trilogy, is definitely a must-have for all ages, and with the third book about to make it's appearance, now is the perfect time to pick up Paolini's debut novel.
