Bookseller review
Even after 12 novels, Coupland has never bettered this incredible book and it's certainly one I'll recommend to anyone who asks, or indeed doesn't ask! Set in modern day Vancouver, a teenager slips into a coma, setting off a series of events that ripple through her peer group and widen into ever-increasing circles of destruction and redemption. An apocalyptic take on "It's a Wonderful Life", if this book doesn't make you cry, you are part of the problem!

I have re-read this book more than any other. everytime I do I glimpse something new and enjoy the reflection it imparts on my life. Six high school friends grow uncomfortably into adolescence whilst one remains inert in a coma only to wake with visions of an iminent apocalypse! Beautifully realised and structured, this is a Coupland's epic of storytelling, drama, and pathos.
