The Book of Poisons is a new edition of Deadly Doses , which is an excellent reference for the writer interested in using poison as an element within a story. It is widely considered the best book in the Howdunit series, and is very reference orientated. Until Deadly Doses entered in the market in 1990, correct information about poisons (and their antidotes) were scattered among dusty old reference and medical books, many written in medicalese, and most of them difficult to locate, much less understand. This book is written in understandable English, and all medical terms are in the glossary. Symptoms, forms, methods of administration, and reactions are handily cross-referenced, so if you're wondering what poisons will turn you a different colour, you can find them - easily!
