Bookseller review
If you liked Harry Potter and Twilight, then this book is for you. It is about a 16 year old girl named Zoe who has been marked by a Vampyre and has to attend 'House of the Night' a school for Vampyres and yes, it does has its own Edward in the form of Eric. A book for older teens.

Bookseller review
A somewhat personal account of a girl's turbulent transformation into a vampire...as if being a teenager wasn't hard enough. Successfully merging drama and unconventional supernatural concepts in this, a darkly gripping novel, devoted to immersing readers into empathising with its characters. Will this series rival Stephenie Meyer's Twilight? We'll let you be the judge!

Bookseller review
When sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird gets Marked as a fledgling vampire she must join the House of Night school where she will train to become an adult vampire. That is, if she makes it through the Change. But Zoe is no ordinary fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the Goddess Nyx and discovers her amazing new power to conjure the elements: earth, air, fire, water and spirit. When Zoey discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look within herself to embrace her destiny - with a little help from her new vampire friends.

As Zoey gets Marked by a vampyre she knows she has to go to House of Night boarding school or face death! Outcast by her school friends and parents she seeks comfort at her grandma's, who takes her to House of Night school to start to live and learn who to become in Vampyre... that is if she lives! A great start to this series which has already become a huge hit in America from mother and daugther duo authors! Check out the House of Night website too, it fits in extremely well with the books. I love them!

I expected to find like a sea of reviews for this book cos it`s great, as the other review said it`s big in America and there`s a fourth book coming out in August.
Zoey gets marked, and in where she comes from that`s not a good thing. She`s now required to go to the house of night, a school for marked teenagers and futre vampires. Her parents the religious extremes go crazy at her and insist that she doesnt go to the house of night but there`s fault, if she doesn`t go there she`ll die(if the "change" doesn`t kill her first). She finds herself fitting in better than she expected and makes a new group of friends, however her past comes back to haunt her and a new sea of mysteries arrise and Zoey realises that in the house of night, everything and everybody has a purpose and position- not all are good and as they seem.
I don`t think i gave anything away but sorry if you think so.
xx

I was a little bit worried about reading this at first as i thought that it might be a little like twilight (which i love) but once i had started the first chapter i instantly became hooked as it is a very unsual type of vampyr book and i can honestly say one i haven't read before.
i couldn't put this book down and i am now reading the third book and i am still unable to put it down.
i will recommend these books to everyone they are brilliant.
