Once upon a time, there lived in Spain a bull named Ferdinand. While his brothers liked to charge around the field, butt their heads together and to generally act ferocious, Ferdinand liked nothing better than to sit under the cork tree and smell the flowers. He was a placid and a gentle bull whose only desire in life was to be let alone.

Katy, a red crawler tractor, can do a lot of things. In the summer she is a bulldozer, in the winter, she turns into a snowplough, waiting for her chance to be useful. Most of the winters, though, the snowfalls are mild and the town doesn't need Katy. But when the big one finally hits the entire community is dependent on one little snowplough.

It is the day before Christmas and the toys in Mr Blossom's shop know it is their last chance to be sold. Holly, a little doll dressed especially for Christmas, wishes hard for her own special child to come and buy her. But the day ends and Holly is left in the window.
