An everyday tale of Mormons and Latter Day Saints. Accused of murdering her husband the 19th wife of a 21st century polygamist is in jail awaiting trial. Her son, Jordan, who she drove out of the Mormon community at 14, is the only person she knows in the ‘outside world’.
As her son tries to unravel what has happened, he goes back to the closed community, where men have 20 or more wives and dozens of children, where people live by the Book of Mormon and outside the law.
Contrasted with this modern tale is the story of Ann Elisa Young, 19th wife of Brigham Young, Prophet and founder of the Mormon sect, who left her husband and battled to end polygamy in the US.
This novel has a thin plot , is lacking characters and any substance, you would be better off reading a biography of Ann Elisa Young.

Gripping stuff - I was hooked ! Two parallel stories. One from the beginnings of Mormonism, with its strict beliefs (including polygamy), and the other is a modern-day tale and those same strict beliefs (and polygamy). It's a tale of love and loss, the strength of people's faith and how this can seem alien to those on the outside. Read it.
