Los Angeles PI Philip Marlowe is working for the Sternwood family. The godfather of crime noir, Raymond Chandler’s, first novel cataloguing the cases of Phil Marlowe, urban knight in dark and shadowy world of sex, fraud, blackmail and pornography rackets in prohibition era America. Chandler could be accredited with not only spawning a whole generation of crime writers but also inspiring film directors to produce some of the century’s most iconic cinema.
