Bookseller review
Join Thursday in her first outing as she tries to out wit criminal mastermind Acheron Hades. What Fforde has managed to achieve is a book for book lovers, drawing on characters from the classics, who you get to see in a whole new light. While the new characters introduced shine out on their own. This really is page turning fiction, and with five already published in the series, there is plenty to keep you going for a while. Believe me you will not be able to put 'The Eyre Affair' or any others in the series down.

Bookseller review
If you want an original book to read then look no further. FForde is a legend. This book is the first in a fabulous series that features one of the best characters ever; Thursday Next. There is nothing about this book that I don't like. It's brilliant and those that haven't read this book are missing out. Join the fun!!!! Woohoooooo!!!

Set in a world parallel to our own, 'The Eyre Affair' is a gripping novel from start to finish. Thursday Next, a character sure to become a literary classic, is a 'Literatec', someone who combats pirate literature and fights other crimes against the written word. In her world literature is as important as religion and each text is sacred and this is where we meet Acheron Hades, a Dickension villain capable of entering books and changing the plot at will, this has dire consequences, even when it is only a minor character from 'Martin Chuzzlewit' and when the original 'Jane Eyre' Manuscript is stolen there is only one woman who has the cunning, razor sharp wit needed to defeat this brilliant man, but will Thursday be able to stop Jane Eyre's story from being ended...permanently? You'll have to read the book if you want to find out.
