Bookseller review
Katniss has always tried to evade the power of the Capitol, but she can't on the day of The Reaping; a lottery that claims 2 children from each of the 12 districts of Panem. The prize?Being taken to a huge arena to fight to the televised death. The purpose?A reminder that the power of the Capitol is absolute. How can you bring yourself to fight a challenge like this? Katniss is about to find out.

Quite simply breathtaking. I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of this book and was blown away. The Hunger Games takes the concept of 'last man standing' from Battle Royale, sets it in a(I want to say futuristic) dystopian landscape. The story follows the fortunes of Katniss, a young hunter, who, through a series of unfortunate circumstances, is forced to volunteer to take part in the hunger games: A 24 person fight to the death. Needless to say, cue excitement, romance, love, tragedy and hope and also one absolutely cracking read. Pre-order this now, get a first edition, you won't be disappointed!
