The Shack

Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his great sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.Against his better judgement he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant THE SHACK wrestles with the timeless question, 'Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?' The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

    THE SHACK William P Young

WOW this book is superb. the detail in which the author writes the story is immense !! It is based on true events with the author being a close friend of the main character.

The book is about a man called Mack who lives an ordinary life, he has baggage from his childhood but seems to amble thru life until a tradegy in the family destroys his foundations. He finds that all his perceptions and attitudes are about to be changed he faces some tough challenges, but maybe some great revelations.

I found myself in tears and then joy as the story unfolds and the revelation of the divine encounter Mack has with his Papa. This story will challenge and bring joy, and will help those looking for something, or someone!

    The Shack

The beginning and end of this book totally consumed me, but I found the middle bit when Mack is with 'Papa' a little heavy going. Once finished, I did feel emotionally drained. Perhaps if you are in a dark or difficult point in your life, Macks story will help.......me, I was left wondering.
