When Bella Swan joins her father in Forks, Washington, she is instantly drawn to the Cullen family, in particular the mysterious Edward Cullen. Thrown by his profound hostility, she struggles to understand his obvious dislike of her, until he saves her from an out-of-control car. Life gets a lot more interesting when she discovers he's a vampire! A good read, favourite with teenage girls.

“Twilight” is a captivating tale of vampire romance at high school. Stephenie Meyer’s Mormon religion has a great influence in the way that the characters are portrayed. A great book, with much more to come in the sequels... It’s when the werewolves arrive that things really start getting interesting!

When 17 year old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town. But in spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away ? until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car. Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires ? and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.

This is the first novel in the Twilight saga which has dominated the teen bestseller lists since Christmas. Bella reluctantly moves to Forks to live with her Father, meeting Edward in the process and discovering his secret. Absolutely compelling and guaranteed to have you rapidly devouring the rest of the books in this highly readable vampire saga.

The Twilight series of books is my new obsession! Meyer's writing is outstanding and I literally get goosebumps when I read the books and I am very much in love with Edward Cullen. I would recommend this book to anyone aged 12 upwards and there really isn't a limit. My 52 year old mother adores these books.

High school and vampires. Bella, the new girl, meets Edward at high school. Initally she knows something's not right- how can he be that good looking and does he hate her? But little by little she discovers more about him and realises he loves her scent, the smell of her blood, but does he love her enough not to kill her?

I was recommended this book by my friend, based solely on the fact that I love anything to do with vampires. I started reading it, and had finished it in a few hours -- I couldn't put it down. This book is one that just refuses to leave your head, and is full of action, romance, and some of the best characters ever created. Now, who else wants to marry Edward Cullen?

I so love this book (well the whole series really). I have read them over and over and will continue to do so. If you like romance, suspense and vampires then this is the book for you. If not, try it anyway. You won't be disappointed.

Stephanie Meyer's first installment in the Twilight series immediately announces itself as the next craze for the Harry Potter generation. Immensely readable and gripping, you just won't be able to stop from reading the rest of the series too (available on 3 for 2)

Twilight is an old age love story. With a fabulous twist that is carried on through all of the series. Whether you are 12 or 41 this book is for all ages. I dare you not to fall in love with these books upon reading them because I found it impossible not to myself.

Ok, I'll admit that I had promised myself that I would never read any Stephenie Meyer books. Whilst on holiday, after reading all my books, I purchased Twilight and thought "Why not?" And... ...It is a brilliant book, really well written, trust me, it's great. Once you have read the first one, you will want to read them all. I did...

Teenage girls (and their big sisters and mums!) will be unable to put down this deeply seductive love story. Stephanie Meyer perfectly captures how it feels to be a teenager, then throws romance, vampires and werewolves into the mix to leave you gagging for more..... which fortunately there is in the form of "New Moon" and "Eclipse."

This is the most amazing book/series I have ever read - It's ruined all other books for me. I don't want to give any of the plot away, because, trust me, you'll want to read this book spoiler-free.
If you like teen fiction, vampires, supernatural, or even romance, then I would highly recommend this book. In fact, it's the only book I ever recommend.
Make sure you have the sequels 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse' (and 'Breaking Dawn' on August 4th) ready for when you finish 'Twilight', or you may end up rushing to your nearest book shop at 8am in the morning.

This is the first book in the Twilight Saga. It succeeded in captivating the minds of me and all of the people I have recommended it to. Stephenie Meyer has a power with words like no other author before. It is often said that this is a book for teenage girls. I tell you this is wrong. I know of many adults who have read this book and enjoyed it as much as I did, and many boys too.
When I started reading this book I could not put it down. There are downfalls however.....falling in love with a fictional character and unrealistic expectations of men.
I am so glad I chose to read this book. I don't know what I would do without it. It is a very important part of my life now, that may sound sad but it is true. I have read it three times so far and do not intend to stop there. Keep and eye out for the movie.
*Side Note* This book has been written from Bella's point of view. The first chapter of Midnight Sun, Edward's version of Twilight can be found at www.stepheniemeyer.com
