A collection of Tokyo street fashion portraits from Japan's premier fanzine of the same title, photographed by leading Japanese street photographer Shoich Aoki. It comprises 45 portraits of young Tokyo-based teenagers and represents a single documentation of the changing face of street fashion.
Following on from 'Fruits', 'Fruits Too' features the latest from Tokyo based 'Fruits Magazine'. Fruits Too uncovers how street fashion has changed in the downtown districts of Tokyo as seen through the eye of Japanese fashion photographer Shoichi Aoki. 'Fruits Too' captures the strange and often 'surreal' fashion sense of Japanese teenagers.
Influenced by Western fashion trends from the mid 1980s, young teenagers, congregate in the urban centres of Harajuku, Akihabara dressed in gothic costumes and late-Victorian dress. This work charts the trend of Gothic fashion that has swept Japan. It features portraits of Japanese Goths and Lolitas in the urban centres of Tokyo and Osaka.
