Up-and-coming British actor Toby Kebbell has admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by Guy Ritchie's calm and considerate style of directing.
Kebbell stars as a wayward rock star alongside Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Piven in Ritchie's forthcoming gangster movie RocknRolla.
Although the 25-year-old, whose previous credits include Dead Man's Shoes and Control, says that he is not a big one for reading about people's personal lives in the tabloids, he admits that he could not help forming an opinion of Ritchie before he met him.
He told WENN: "I really didn't expect to become friends with Guy Ritchie. But I did; he's a really funny, great personality, but no ego. It was never about, 'Just because I say so.'
"He was incredibly open to other ideas as long as they were right for the film. And very even-tempered, you know - he never spoke a bad or a harsh word to anybody. I really like that."
