Keisha Buchanan, the only original member of girl group the Sugababes, has said that the pop industry is now more focused on celebrity than music.
Buchanan joined the band over a decade ago and she says that she has seen a lot of changes in her time.
Speaking to Radio 1, she said: "I think one thing that's changed so much in this music industry now is that, I remember when I first released Overload and even when Heidi joined, things were all about the music.
"Now it's all about being a celebrity and having the music at the same time. We're not that kind of band."
Buchanan singles out chart rivals Girls Aloud as an example of a group whose "public persona" is very important, adding that they are all about their celebrity status because they came from a reality TV show.
She said that the Sugababes, on the other hand, were "private people" but insists they will keep being successful because they have "longevity".
