Kate Winslet led the charge of Brits who won at the Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles last night.
The 33-year-old actress won both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress gongs for her roles in Revolutionary Road and The Reader respectively.
Poking fun at her record for receiving five Oscar nominations during her career but never winning one, she told the A-list audience: "You'll have to forgive me - I have a habit of not winning things."
Winslet looked visibly shocked when she approached the stage for the second time in the evening to collect the Best Actress award and she paid tribute to fellow nominees Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Kristin Scott Thomas and Angelina Jolie.
Danny Boyle also picked up the Best Director gong for his Mumbai-set movie, Slumdog Millionaire, which also scooped the prizes for Best Drama Film, Best Screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and Best Original Score by composer A R Rahman.
Meanwhile British star Sally Hawkins also won the award for Best Actress in a musical or comedy for her role in Mike Leigh's Happy-Go-Lucky.
The Golden Globes are widely considered to be a good barometer for the Oscars, which are due to take place on February 22nd.
