This one goes into my top 5. Very clever, very entertaining. A little sad in places, but it comes out ok in the end. A few laugh out loud moments too ! Twisted little fairytales woven together, so you kind of feel it's a bit familiar but something's not quite right. Buy it now ! A great holiday read.

If the devil didn't exist, would man have to invent him? For Gideon Mack, faithless minister, unfaithful husband and troubled soul, the existence of God, let alone the Devil, is no more credible than that of ghosts or fairies. Until the day he falls into a gorge and is rescued by someone who might just be Satan himself.

This one had me gripped from the start, and the ending didn't disappoint. The other reviews quote that it is a little bit different, and it surely is. A priest starts to doubt his own faith - surely contraversial. Imagine a darker version of Father Ted and you're almost there. Very interesting.

Blummin brilliant. Very entertaining, even for adults, and I should imagine it's just as good for a younger audience. The story is enough to keep anybody hooked - swashbuckling adventure, heroism, a family element, a love interest, etc. No swearing, no sex, but plenty of old-fashioned combat. I'd get started on this set of books right now - number four is on it's way !

Very interesting dive into the psyches of several patients, and one stressed out psychiatrist. Sturrock is a great psychiatrist, yet his patients don't realise his true greatness as a psychiatrist and a man until it's almost too late. It's a story of despair, triumph and success, and illustrates how we should all put ourselves in somebody else's shoes once in a while.
