Tell me your highlights and lowlights of the borders staff. Are they nice or are they unhelpful! (You don't have to say who)
In my experience Borders staff have been pretty helpful - at least the atmos in the store beats the deadliness of Waterstones! It was a disaster when Ws took over Ottakars, where staff were encouraged to take a real interest in the books, given relative autonomy over ordering etc and organised lots of events. Borders needs to do plenty of the same.
thanks for listening to my comments. i live in Ireland and the only broders there is 10 mins away. I could not live Without borders and as for the staff their great and very helpfull!
I live in the Conwy Valley, North WALES & I have to travel about 65 miles to my nearest Borders Book Shop in Chester, England, BUT I find the journey well worth it. I am an AVID Book Lover & spend HOURS in Borders of Chester usually spending a small fortune on my addiction of BOOKS !. I find the WHOLE Borders experience well worth my time & travel expenses because I KNOW that (if needed) I will be helped by the friendly staff in Chester. I will be even worse when Borders open a store nearer to my home, just outside of Conwy, North WALES Kenny.
I love the staff who work in Borders' stores. Especially Borders in Llantrisant, South Wales. They are all specialists in their own fields and are more than willing to give advice and make recommendations. There's this one guy there called Tom...he's great.
P.s. Their Front of Store is incredible!
