This is sooooooo hard and although I suspect Shawshank will come out on top, my vote goes to Deliverance. Bert Reynolds was legendary in it. No other man could get by in that situation with just a rubber (I may be wrong about the material) waistcoat (except maybe Chuck Norris).
Duelling banjoes scene is incredible - even if the kid in it looks a surprising amount like Wayne Rooney. My fave for sure.

No surprises to see Shawshank Redemption in the running, closely followed by The Bourne Ultimatum, Garden State and The Green Mile. There is a surprise charge from the colossus of cinema that is Cool Runnings. Remember, any film can win this vote so rally your friends, enemies and countrymen and let's choose the greatest American movie ever!
